Carnivora
Carnivora, Raubtiere, Ordnung der Eutheria. C. gibt es seit dem Tertiär. Unterordnung Fissipedia, Landraubtiere: Krallen; erste Zehen reduziert oder fehlend. Gebiss: kleine Schneidezähne, als Fangzähne vergrößerte Eckzähne, Brechschere aus letztem oberem Prämolaren (P4) und erstem unterem Molaren (M1). Die meisten Vertreter sind Fleischfresser, es gibt jedoch auch Allesfresser (z.B. Bären); Proteles, Erdwolf, ist Insektenfresser, der Große Panda Pflanzenfresser. Familien: Mustelidae, Marder; Procyonidae, Kleinbären; Ursidae, Bären; Canidae, Hunde; Felidae, Katzen; Viverridae, Schleichkatzen; Cryptoproctidae, Frettkatzen; Hyaenidae, Hyänen.
    Unterordnung Pinnipedia, Robben: Meerestiere; Fortpflanzung an Land; Fleischfresser; Flossenbildung durch Verbindung der fünfgliedrigen Extremitäten durch eine Schwimmhaut; kurzer Schwanz; vereinfachtes Gebiss. Familien: Otariidae, Ohrenrobben, Seelöwen; Odobenidae, Walrosse; Phocidae, Seehunde.
