Calcitonin
Calcitonin, Peptidhormon, das bei Säugern in der Schilddrüse, bei Nichtsäugern unter den Wirbeltieren vom Ultimobranchialkörper gebildet wird; senkt den Calcium- und Phosphatspiegel und wirkt als Gegenspieler des Parathormons, indem es den Knochenabbau hemmt.
