Pinopsida

Pinopsida: Pinopsida, Nadelhölzer, ca. 600 Arten umfassende Klasse der ⇒ Coniferophytina, mit verkürzten Blütenachsen, denen seitlich oder endständig Pollensackgruppen (Staubblätter) bzw. Samenanlagen (»Fruchtblätter«) ansitzen. Die f Blüten bilden häufig kätzchen- oder zapfenförmige Blütenstände. Die P. sind gegliedert in die ausgestorbene Unterklasse Cordaitidae, die im Karbon Wälder bildeten, im Perm jedoch schon ausstarben, sowie die Unterklassen ⇒ Pinidae und ⇒ Taxidae.
