Phospholipide
Phospholipide, Phosphatide, zu den polaren Lipiden gehörende Verbindungen, bei denen die Phosphorsäure einerseits mit Glycerin oder Sphingosin, andererseits mit Cholin, Ethanolamin, Serin oder Inosit verestert ist (polarer, hydrophiler »Kopf«); an das Glycerin oder Sphingosin zusätzlich esterartig zwei Fettsäuren gebunden (apolarer, hydrophober »Schwanz«). P. sind wesentliche Membranbestandteile. Ein wichtiges P. ist z.B. Lecithin (Phosphatidylcholin), bei dem die Phosphorsäure an Cholin und Glycerin, Letzteres wiederum an Stearinsäure und α-Linolensäure gebunden ist.
